Tottenham Hotspur have finished ahead of Arsenal for the first time since 1995 this past season.
Arsenal great Tony Adams has told the London Evening Standard that he has found Tottenham Hotspur’s recent progress distressing.
Adams claims that Spurs have built the foundations of their success on similar principles to Arsenal.
And the former Gunners centre-back is disappointed to see Spurs doing so well, at the expense of his former club.
“The way they’ve gone about things is very Arsenal,” Adams said.
“That’s more distressing than anything. The Arsenal fans would say that too. The boys look like they want to play for their club, they’re scoring goals and playing well. They’re highly motivated.”
Tottenham finished ahead of Arsenal for the first time since 1995 this past season, and seem to have overtaken their North London rivals.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side were a class apart from Arsenal over the past season.
Tottenham’s squad also seems to have plenty of development in it, as they have such a young team.
The last remaining question for Spurs will be to deliver some silverware, as despite their recent success, they still have not won a trophy since Pochettino took charge.
