Arsenal could hog the headlines on deadline day if they take up the opportunity to sign a Premier League star from a direct rival.

The Gunners have been calculated and controlled in the summer window so far with three deals that all directly improve Mikel Arteta’s squad.

David Raya made his move permanent in a £27m deal, and Arsenal then completed the signing of Riccardo Calafiori to bolster their defence.

After a long-running saga with Real Sociedad, Arsenal signed Mikel Merino but their business might not be done just yet.

The Gunners remain on the lookout for attacking reinforcements and they have just been given the chance to sign a Premier League-proven winger on deadline day.

Arsenal offered the chance to sign Chelsea ace

Chelsea are desperately looking to offload several players on deadline day and they have now offered Raheem Sterling to their London rivals.

HITC understands that Chelsea have offered Sterling to Arsenal in their latest attempt to offload the 29-year-old winger.

Sterling is currently earning £325,000 per week at Stamford Bridge and the Blues are eager to get him off their wage bill before the window slams shut on Friday evening.

Sterling joined Chelsea for £48million from Manchester City in 2022, but Chelsea are willing to accept a cut-price fee for the England international.

Arsenal most likely destination for Raheem Sterling

Despite being offered to Arsenal and Manchester United in a potential swap deal, HITC understands that Sterling currently has no offers on the table.

However, his agents are still in talks about a possible deal and will continue throughout deadline day to find him an exit option.

Going into deadline day the most likely scenario was Sterling staying put but Arsenal have held fresh talks and his most likely destination is now The Emirates if he does leave Stamford Bridge with Sterling eager to work under Mikel Arteta.

Aston Villa, Newcastle, Crystal Palace and West Ham have all been contacted alongside Arsenal but so far no top-flight side has been able to put a package together to sign Sterling.
