The Athletic are reporting today that Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal have given Shakhtar Donetsk an ultimatum over Mykhailo Mudryk.
Arsenal give Shakhtar Donetsk ultimatum over Mykhailo Mudryk
The report has claimed that Arsenal are still holding talks with Ukrainian Premier League club Shakhtar over the transfer of Mudryk in January.
The report, written by David Ornstein and James McNicholas, has added that Arsenal ‘have made it clear how far they are willing to go for the forward’.
“The outlook is now that Shakhtar have to decide whether they will find an agreement around those terms and allow Mudryk to join Arsenal,” adds the report in The Athletic.
Sensible
In our view, Arsenal are being very sensible in their stance over Mykhailo Mudryk.
Yes, we know that the Gunners are determined to sign the winger and have made three bids for the 22-year-old.

And, as you would expect, Shakhtar are holding out for more money.
It is natural of the selling club to make negotiations tough for the buying team.
However, Arsenal are right to put their foot down and make it clear to Shakhtar that they are not going to pay more than they want to.
Arsenal also need to get a deal done quickly and not drag it until the final days of the January transfer window.
