Arsenal: Giroud not scoring does not mean he does not fit

Asim Mohammed urges Arsenal fans not to worry about Olivier Giroud’s lack of goals so far, and insists he will come good.

Arsenal have sold van Persie and Song, two of the regular starters and also star performers from the previous campaign and yet managed to be competitive in the beginning of this season, too early to call that, but I can say we are doing good.

Wait, not just good, above my expectations and more importantly above the expectations of English media.

So, we are not the club in crisis, what is there to be written? I haven’t seen the mainstream media writing good things about Arsenal.

What’s there to write?

Oh, Walcott not signing, free transfer next season?

I don’t think they’ll write about it, as Walcott is already demoted to bench and fighting with many others for his place.

Then the only topic leftover is mis-firing Oliver Giroud.

Giroud comes from a less competitive French League, and how many times have you seen a striker come from a league like that in France and start firing all cylinders.

Arsenal have seen many players come from that league take time to adjust. We had Henry, Vieira, Adebayor and most recent Gervinho to have taken sometime to adjust to the Premier League.

And Giroud not scoring goals doesn’t mean he doesn’t fit in. He’s been playing well, if not goals his physical presence is a top asset in itself, I haven’t seen any Arsenal centre forward, before him, winning as many ariel duels as Oli does.

He has a great understanding with Podolski and also was involved in both the goals against his former club.

Wenger needs to keep faith in him, goals will come. I remember a certain once in eight year striker, now at the place where the child inside him wanted to be, faced his fair criticism at Arsenal during his time at Arsenal, and now look at him…
