Gabriel Martinelli believes Bukayo Saka will be staying with Arsenal for a long time yet as he nears a new contract.

Martinelli has been speaking to Football London ahead of tonight’s Europa League clash against Sporting.

The Brazilian was asked about Saka’s future given that Martinelli himself signed a new contract with Arsenal in February.

Saka is next on the agenda for Arsenal and Martinelli is in no doubt about his future.

Martinelli believes Saka truly loves Arsenal and will be staying with the Gunners ‘for sure’.

“He will stay for sure. He loves the club,” said Martinelli, who will hope to keep his dynamic wing duo with Saka going for a while yet.

Saka’s current contract with Arsenal runs until the summer of 2025 after the Gunners took up a one-year option.

Yet having been so incredible this season, Arsenal want to reward him with a bumper deal for years to come.

The Guardian claim that Arsenal have reached a verbal agreement with Saka over a new contract until the summer of 2028.

That report noted that Saka always wanted to stay at Arsenal and will now seemingly do so.

To secure such a long-term deal with their star man is enormous news for Arsenal and a far cry from losing players towards the end of their contracts like years gone by.

Saka, 21, has been sensational this season with 10 goals and nine assists in 26 Premier League appearances.

The sky appears to be the limit for Saka, who has really relished taking on the responsibility of being Arsenal’s go-to man in their title charge.

The Daily Mail reported last summer that Liverpool and Manchester City were both looking at Saka as a potential signing.

Arsenal are making sure that doesn’t happen and this imminent new deal is just what all Arsenal fans want.

This makes Arsenal a threat for years to come. Yes, their Premier League title push has been a little surprising but any notion of this being a one-off like Leicester City in 2016 is unfair.

Arsenal have been building a strong base of young players and with both Saka and Martinelli set to start for years to come, Mikel Arteta’s men could be a force for a while yet.
