Arsenal are chasing Gabriel Jesus and former Tottenham midfielder Jamie O’Hara has admitted that he would be gutted if a move happens.

The Gunners desperately need to add a new striker despite Eddie Nketiah’s decision to sign a new contract.

Alexandre Lacazette has left the club for a return to Lyon and Arsenal must now push on to find a replacement.

Despite links to the likes of Alvaro Morata, Gianluca Scamacca and Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Jesus appears to be the top target for Arsenal.

Jesus has been linked with Arsenal for around two months now with the Manchester City star high on their wish list.

Edu knows Jesus from the Brazil setup whilst Mikel Arteta coached him at City.

Goal claim that Arsenal are closing in on a £50million deal to sign Jesus and an agreement could be in place this week.

An interesting claim has emerged today as well, with the Daily Star suggesting that Jesus prefers to join Arsenal over Tottenham.

Tottenham have been keen on Jesus too and can offer Champions League football.

Yet with Son Heung-min, Harry Kane and Dejan Kulusevski on board, Jesus feels his playing time may be hampered.

Arsenal lead the race for Jesus and former Tottenham midfielder Jamie O’Hara isn’t exactly loving it.

Pundit and ex-Tottenham midfielder O’Hara has told Sky Sports that he would be ‘absolutely gutted’ to see Jesus sign for Arsenal.

O’Hara feels that Jesus would be a ‘huge’ signing for Arsenal’s strikeforce and would take them to another level.

O’Hara hopes the deal falls through and that Arsenal are left scrambling for a lower-level striker, just like all Tottenham fans will.

“If Arsenal get him I would be absolutely gutted,” said O’Hara. “Because that is a player that would 100 per cent take them to a new level. Their strikeforce hasn’t been good enough recently and Jesus would be a huge signing for them. Hopefully it falls flat on its face and it doesn’t get done,” he added.

Tottenham do still want another attacker this summer but their hopes of beating the Gunners to Jesus appear to be dwindling.
