Clinton Morrison has criticised Arsenal central defender Gabriel on BBC Sport for going down easily during an off-the-ball incident involving Leicester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho.
The former Crystal Palace forward has said that during the days of Alan Shearer, such things were commonplace, and that Gabriel would have got that from the Newcastle United legend himself.
Gabriel – Kelechi Iheanacho incident during Arsenal v Leicester
In the first half, Brazilian central defender Gabriel went down after Iheanacho flicked his hand towards the Arsenal star’s face.
The Leicester forward was given a yellow card.
Morrison said on BBC Sport: “In our day and age, someone like Alan Shearer would have given Gabriel something like that every game.
“Come on, a big centre-half and he goes down like that. He has made a meal of that.”

Disappointing
In our opinion, Gabriel’s actions was disappointing. We do not think that the Arsenal defender needed to be so dramatic.
Now, of course, we do not think that Iheanacho was right in doing what he did, but it was not really a very strong touch.
Gabriel could have stayed on his feet if he wanted to.
However, at the end of the season, the Leicester forward got a yellow card and Arsenal won the Premier League game.
The Gunners have enhanced their chances of finishing in the Champions League places with the win against the Foxes.
