In our view, if Arsenal complete a deal for Ivan Fresneda, they could be signing their very own right-back version of Oleksandr Zinchenko.

Recently, TuttoJuve had reported that Mikel Arteta and Co. were ready to table a £17.5 million bid to sign the Real Valladolid defender.

The Daily Mail had even claimed that the 18-year-old’s agent, valued at £26 million by AS was in London to initiate talks over a potential switch.

HITC Football wholeheartedly believe the transfer makes a whole lot of sense.

This is because Arsenal-linked prodigy Ivan Fresneda profiles quite similarly to Oleksandr Zinchenko in an attacking sense.

The major reason behind the comparison is because much like the Ukrainian, the Spaniard is also an expert at playing in an inverted right-back role.

Ivan Fresneda, much like Oleksandr Zinchenko has a tendency to tuck inside, or in the middle of the park and break lines, which makes him ideal for Arsenal.

Just because the youngster plays for 17th placed Real Valladolid, some of his numbers may not instantly impress, unless one puts them into context.

For instance, Ivan Fresneda has made an average of 2.2 progressive passes per 90, in comparison to the 6.84 Arsenal ace Oleksandr Zinchenko has over the past 365 days, as per FbRef.

However, that is telling about how fearless Fresenda is on the ball, and how much he always attempts to break the lines and push his side forward.

Impressively, the teenager has received more progressive passes (3.05) than Zinchenko (2.92) over the past 365 days.

This is an indicator of just how much responsibility the Spanish wonderkid is willing to take, despite being in a side that is battling relegation.

Being a natural defender, unlike the 26-year-old, who joined Manchester City as a midfielder, he could already be an upgrade in this very key regard as well.

All in all, Ivan Fresneda profiles extremely similarly to Oleksandr Zinchenko, and could make for a stupendous pickup for Arsenal.
