Arsenal striker Folarin Balogun is in a difficult spot this season, and fans are now urging the club to loan him out during the January window.

Balogun signed a new contract with Arsenal back in April, ending speculation linking him with a move away from Ibrox.

Many assumed that would lead to first-team opportunities – but it hasn’t been the case.

Since starting the opening league game of the season against Brentford, Balogun has appeared just once in the Premier League – and that was an 11-minute showing against Chelsea in August.

That means the 20-year-old has been stuck playing in Premier League 2. With 10 goals and two assists in just eight games, Balogun is clearly too good for that level.

England Under-21 boss Lee Carsley has now suggested that Balogun needs to be tested, hinting that the striker needs a loan move.

Surely Arsenal will sense that Balogun is too good for Premier League 2 and will get him a January loan exit.

Arsenal fans comment on Balogun

Arsenal fans are now taking to Twitter to react to Carsley’s comments, believing that keeping Balogun was ‘odd’.

Some think that loaning Balogun out is ‘common sense’ and should have been done in the summer.

Gunners supporters believe that Balogun can replace Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette but needs first-team exposure.

The fear is that Balogun will stall and become another Eddie Nketiah, which Arsenal fans think would be ‘criminal’.
