Rob Holding made it clear on Instagram that ‘no matter what’ Arsenal will ‘stick together’ following their goalless draw at Elland Road on Sunday.

Nicolas Pepe stole the headlines after the match for headbutting opposition player Ezgjan Alioski early in the second-half – luckily for the winger, Arsenal weren’t punished and walked away with a point.

But the Arsenal faithful were annoyed, frustrated and angry at their player for his actions, with Mikel Arteta especially being vocal about it after the match [Read Here].

But Holding, who started the game alongside Gabriel at the heart of Arsenal’s defence, sent this 21-word message on Instagram and he didn’t hesitate to back his teammate.

What doesn’t help Pepe’s cause is that he hasn’t exactly made supporters sit up from their seats since he joined the club last summer.

He has had his moments, no doubt, but they have been few and far between and his actions over the weekend won’t exactly help his cause.

It will be interesting to see how Arteta deals with the matter because he has been pretty strict with players who have lacked discipline.

Whether Alioski went down too easily or not, Pepe fell into a trap and he was naive during that moment and it’s cost him.

Whilst the Arsenal fans will be critical, they need to remember that they need to get the best out of their left-footed talent and the best way about it is by backing him, as Holding has done.
