We’re entering the business end of the Premier League season, and it feels like we’ve seen enough from each team and each player to judge how their season as gone so far.

Some teams have been flying – Arsenal, Fulham, Brighton and Newcastle have to be over the moon with how this year has gone so far.

Meanwhile, other teams have stumbled – Chelsea, West Ham and Liverpool are not living up to expectations by any stretch of the imagination.

It’s the same story for certain players too, and there’s one Tottenham player in particular who won’t be happy with how his campaign has gone – Richarlison.

Indeed, the Brazilian is yet to score a single league goal for Spurs, and not many saw such a dry spell coming from the former Everton man.

However, one pundit did see this coming – Alan Smith.

When speaking to 90Min on behalf of Sky Sports before the start of the season, Smith named Richarlison as the player who will flop the hardest this season, and he’s been proven absolutely right.

Smith predicted Richarlison will flop

The pundit got his prediction spot on.

“I’m going to say Richarlison, Arsenal fans will love that. He’s clearly a talented lad and he was leading the line for Everton almost single-handedly, but I don’t know. It will be interesting the dynamic between him and his manager, between him and Conte,” Smith said.

One of the worst signings

We usually try to give players the benefit of the doubt, but it’s hard to describe Richarlison as anything other than one of the worst signings of the season.

£60m, zero goals and not a feature in the starting XI, the Brazilian hasn’t lived up to any sort of expectations at Tottenham.

As Smith says, Richarlison’s struggles may well be to the delight of Arsenal fans as the Gunners tried to sign him before he eventually got his move to Spurs.

Arsenal very much got the last laugh on this one.
