Liverpool played out a stunning 3-3 draw with Brentford on Saturday evening – and Arsenal defender Ben White may have been watching Ivan Toney’s display.

The Reds fell 1-0 down to an Ethan Pinnock strike before Diogo Jota equalised.

A topsy-turvy game saw Liverpool take the lead through Mohamed Salah, and after Vitaly Janet had levelled for the Bees, Curtis Jones made it 3-2.

There was another twist in the tale though, as Yoane Wissa rescued a point for Brentford in an absorbing contest.

Van Dijk and Matip struggle against Toney – just like White did for Arsenal

Brentford didn’t play scared; they took the game to Liverpool throughout and were well worth a point.

Striker Ivan Toney was a constant threat throughout, challenging the Liverpool back line with his movement and aerial ability.

Toney not only bagged an assist for Pinnock’s goal, but won seven aerial battles as both Joel Matip and Virgil van Dijk struggled to contain him.

One early moment saw both Matip and Van Dijk dragged towards Toney, who found Bryan Mbeumo for a big chance.

Toney is shining in the Premier League – and Arsenal fans think Ben White may be owed an apology.

Arsenal fans react to Toney display

When Toney bullied Ben White on the opening day of the season, the Arsenal man was criticised in the media.

Many questioned White’s performance and called on the Arsenal man to adjust his game to deal with physical strikers.

Yet now, Arsenal fans think Toney has ‘destroyed’ and ‘bullied’ Van Dijk too – and don’t think anybody will talk about it.

Some think that there is some kind of agenda against Arsenal or White, so pundits won’t pick apart Van Dijk or Matip’s displays.

We’ll see whether that’s the case, but Arsenal fans clearly wanted to defend White…
