Arsenal are reportedly set to appoint Unai Emery as their new manager.

Unai Emery manager of Sevilla celebrates after the UEFA Europa League Final match between Liverpool and Sevilla at St. Jakob-Park on May 18, 2016 in Basel, Switzerland.

After speculation suggesting that Mikel Arteta will becoming the next Arsenal manager, the Gunners appear to have made a surprise late swerve.

Arsenal are searching for Arsene Wenger’s replacement, and whilst Arteta was the favourite for some time, the Manchester City coach seemingly won’t be heading back to the Emirates Stadium.

BBC Sport now report that Arsenal will instead appoint another Spaniard, as former Paris Saint-Germain manager Unai Emery is reportedly heading to North London.

The 46-year-old has been a proven winner in recent years, winning three successive Europa League titles between 2014 and 2016, whilst he also won the Ligue 1 title with Paris Saint-Germain this season.

However, PSG have decided to replace him with Thomas Tuchel, and Emery will now be heading for his first shot at Premier League management – and he will be looking for new signings.

Emery may look to work with players he has managed previously, and one player who fits the bill for Arsenal fans is Sevilla midfielder Steven N’Zonzi.

N’Zonzi, 29, was signed by Sevilla in 2015, and he played a key role under Emery following his move from Stoke City, impressing many with his holding midfield play.

Now, Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to predict that N’Zonzi will be Emery’s first signing, and urged the Spaniard to snap up the French World Cup squad member as he is ‘exactly’ what the Gunners need in the middle of the park.
