Frank de Boer’s Netherlands side are through to the last 16 of Euro 2020 after beating North Macedonia – and Arsenal fans now want Denzel Dumfries.
Memphis Depay opened the scoring for the hosts in Amsterdam before Georginio Wijnaldum added a brace to give the Netherlands a 3-0 win.
De Boer’s side had a scare in their 3-2 win over Ukraine in their first outing of the tournament, but have now advanced with three wins from three games.
The Dutch have scored eight goals in their three Euro 2020 games, looking very dangerous going forward in De Boer’s 3-5-2.
They may be a little frail at the back against a top side, but part of their excellence so far has been the play of their wing backs – and in particular, Denzel Dumfries.
Should Arsenal move for Dumfries?
Arsenal could sell Hector Bellerin this summer, meaning they would need to sign another right back. Dumfries is certainly making a case to be a target.
The PSV Eindhoven star scored the winner against Ukraine before adding another to his tally in the 2-0 win over Austria.
He was rampaging forward against North Macedonia too, and looked destined to score his third of the tournament but was denied by Stole Dimitrievski.
Dumfries helped the Netherlands to a second straight clean sheet, and he could earn a move away from the Eredivisie off the back of his Euro 2020 campaign.
Eindhoven Dagblad claimed earlier this month that Everton want to sign Dumfries, and they would be able to sign him for just £13million.
His price tag is surely rising off the back of his strong summer, but even if it gets to £20million, Arsenal must be taking a look.
They need to find their long-term solution at right back, and Dumfries can be that player at just 25. He’s strong and committed, makes clever runs down the right flank and has shown end product in the final third.
Dumfries could be a bargain for Arsenal in what looks like being a problem position, and Gunners fans have been having their say.

Arsenal fans have their say
Arsenal supporters have been taking to Twitter to share their thoughts on Dumfries, having witness another fine display from him on Monday evening.
Some are wondering just why Arsenal aren’t already in for Dumfries, especially given his more than reasonable price tag.
Others believe that Dumfries is now showing that he would be an upgrade on all of Arsenal’s current right back options like Bellerin, Calum Chambers and Cedric Soares.
Dumfries has been called ‘class’, ‘amazing’ and a ‘real threat’, possibly the ideal replacement for Bellerin.
If Arsenal are to land Dumfries then they need to move quickly, but it seems that Gunners fans would love to see such a move happen.
