Arsenal produced a fine performance to beat West Ham United 2-0 on Wednesday night – and fans were loving the performance of defender Takehiro Tomiyasu.
Arsenal 2-0 West Ham United – how did it happen?
The Gunners missed a number of first-half chances and just couldn’t seen to force the ball home.
The opener did come in the end though as Alexandre Lacazette played Gabriel Martinelli in on goal.
With shades of Thierry Henry, Martinelli caressed the ball home before Lacazette had a penalty saved by Lukasz Fabianski.
West Ham attempted to get back into the game, but Emile Smith Rowe killed it off as he bagged Arsenal’s second.
This is a big win for Arsenal, taking them above West Ham and into the top four.
Arsenal fans hail Tomiyasu display
Lacazette was outstanding in attack even if his penalty didn’t go in, producing a real captain’s display after Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang had the armband taken off him.
Yet one of the standout performers for Arsenal fans was actually defender Tomiyasu.

The deadline day signing from Bologna back in August has quickly become a fan favourite at the Emirates Stadium.
Tomiyasu justified the love against West Ham, producing one key pass, one tackle won, two accurate crosses, three clearances, two successful dribbles and two aerial duels.
Arsenal fans have now been taking to Twitter to rave about Tomiyasu, suggesting that he won’t get the headlines but deserves to.
Others called Tomiyasu ‘brilliant’ and ‘unpassable’, believe Arsenal have a ‘filthy’ player and a ‘machine’ on their hands.
