Aaron Ramsey failed to impress in Arsenal’s 0-0 draw with Sporting.
Arsenal fielded a rotated side on Thursday night as they took on Sporting at the Emirates Stadium, but could only come up with a 0-0 draw.
The likes of Matteo Guendouzi and Emile Smith-Rowe came into the side, along with other fringe players like Danny Welbeck, Carl Jenkinson and Stephan Lichtsteiner.
Unfortunately, a serious injury to Welbeck in the first half proved to be the biggest story coming from the game, as neither side could make a breakthrough.
A point was good enough for Arsenal to advance into the last 32 of the competition, but fans weren’t exactly happy with the 0-0 draw – and particularly with Aaron Ramsey’s performance.
Welsh international Ramsey is always in the news at the moment, as Arsenal have decided to pull a contract offer to the midfielder in order to let him go at the end of the season.
Ramsey is out of contract next summer so will now walk away for free, and The Sun recently reported that Everton are just one of the clubs interested in a deal.
Arsenal fans absolutely slated Ramsey for his showing against Sporting, going as far to suggest that he is one of the most overrated players in the club’s history and needs to go as soon as possible.
With Premier League football hard to come by, Ramsey needed to take his chance tonight but failed, and one fan even suggested that Ramsey will be lucky to even go to Everton based on last night’s showing.
