Arsenal fought back against Manchester City to win in extra-time to book their place in May’s FA Cup semi-final.

Just 24 hours before, bitter North London rivals Tottenham had been defeated by Chelsea at the same stadium.

Arsenal’s win keeps their season alive, and has them on course to potentially win a record 14th FA Cup.

It would be their third FA Cup in the last four years, with Manchester United winning in 2016.

For all the frustration among Arsenal fans about their league position, Sunday’s victory was a ‘pick me up’ they desperately needed.

Gone, temporarily, is the division and in-fighting, replaced by celebration and taunting their rivals Tottenham.

This of course ignore the fact Spurs are on course to finish above Arsenal for the first time in the Arsene Wenger era, while the Gunners may even miss out on Champions League qualification, currently sitting down in seventh position.

Tottenham could go on to win the Premier League, just four points behind leaders Chelsea having whittled the Blues’ lead down.

Despite these worries, Arsenal fans revelled in the results this weekend. ‘Power shift? What power shift?’, was the general message. By the end of May, the sentiments could be different.
