Arsenal defender Sokratis has been ruled out until the end of February with an ankle injury, and some Gunners fans took to Twitter in response to the news.

The 30-year-old joined Arsenal from Borussia Dortmund in the summer for around £16 million , according to the Telegraph, and despite initially struggling to adapt to the pace of the Premier League, he has slowly begun to prove his doubters wrong.

He will now miss at least four weeks of action, however, and his injury could not have come at a worse time for the Gunners.

Laurent Koscielny is also out injured, and is a major doubt for Tuesday’s clash against Cardiff and Sunday’s trip to Manchester City.

Considering the fact that Rob Holding has already been ruled out for the season, these seem to be desperate times for Arsenal.
