Per Mertesacker featured in Arsenal’s win against Everton in the Premier League on Sunday.

Arsenal won against Everton at the weekend, but that was not enough for the Gunners to finish in the top four of the Premier League this season.
The Gunners ended the 2016-17 Premier League campaign with a 3-1 victory over Everton at the Emirates Stadium in North London on Sunday afternoon.
Arsene Wenger’s side were always in control despite the dismissal of Laurent Koscielny in the 14th minute, but Liverpool’s 3-0 victory over Middlesbrough at Anfield means that the Gunners have missed out on a Champions League place.

Arsenal have ended up fifth in the Premier League table with 75 points from 38 matches, a point behind Liverpool, who have clinched the fourth and final Champions League spot.
It must be hugely disappointing and frustrating for the Arsenal fans, but instead of moaning and lamenting, some of them have praised Per Mertesacker.
Mertesacker featured in the Gunners’ win against Everton; the 32-year-old central defender came on as a substitute in the 53rd minute.
It was the former Germany international centre-back’s first Premier League appearance of the season, and many Arsenal fans are pleased with him.
