How would Arsenal supporters feel about Mathieu Flamini coming back? Not great…
When Frenchman Mathieu Flamini left Arsenal back in 2008 it was a real disappointment to his manager Arsene Wenger and supporters alike.
He left on a free transfer to go to AC Milan, where he later helped them to win the Serie A title.
This season has been a nightmare for him though, suffering a serious knee injury in pre-season, and he has not played a single game.
He may be the second highest player at the club, but it is not a contract Milan seem to wish to renew, expiring this summer.
Despite regaining fitness, the Frenchman has not been picked for Milan’s title run-in, and this week voiced his frustration.
He has been linked with a return to his first club, Marseille, but earlier this week we asked Arsenal fans how they would ask about having him back.
While the majority of 2,000 respondents voted they would not take him back on a free, to be fair, votes were split.
More than 1,180 voters cast a ‘No’ response (59 per cent), and more than 800 voted ‘Yes’ (41 per cent).
Have the fans who voted got it right? Let us know
