Making his first home start for his country, the Atletico Madrid loanee was selected at right-back.
Normally starring on the left for Wolves, Jonny’s first 45 minutes did not go to plan at all.
England went 3-0 up, with Jonny left chasing England’s shadows.
In the second half he was fortunate not to give away a penalty and was later booked for a mistimed tackle on Ben Chilwell.
Jonny’s performance gave Arsenal fans even more reason to be aggrieved at Hector Bellerin’s snub from the side.
The former Barcelona trainee was once seen as Spain’s bright hope at right-back but he did not even make Luis Enrique’s latest squad.
