Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to give their reaction to the performance of Virgil van Dijk for Liverpool against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Friday evening.
Supporters of the North London outfit were impressed with the display produced by the former Celtic defender in Liverpool’s 2-0 win against Wolves away from home at the Molineux Stadium.
The Netherlands international central defender scored in the 68th minute, as Jurgen Klopp’s side won 2-0.
The 27-year-old was brilliant at the back as well, and he was at his very best and continued to show just why he is among the best defenders on the planet.
According to WhoScored, against Wolves, Van Dijk took two shots, had a pass accuracy of 91.8%, won four headers, and made two tackles, one interception and five clearances.
Arsenal fans were following the match, and they were impressed with the performance of Van Dijk, and so was Northern Ireland international right-back Ryan McLaughlin, a former Liverpool prospect who is now at Blackpool.
Former Celtic assistant manager John Collins revealed on beIN SPORTS in September 2018 that Arsenal turned down the chance to sign Van Dijk when the defender was at the Glasgow giants.
