Tottenham Hotspur defender Toby Alderweireld has been linked with Arsenal in the summer transfer window.

Arsenal fans on social networking site Twitter have reacted positively to speculation linking the club with a shock move for Tottenham Hotspur defender Toby Alderweireld.
According to Football.London, Arsenal are interested in signing Alderweireld from bitter North London rivals Tottenham in the summer transfer window.
During an Question & Answer session Football.London’s Arsenal correspondent Charles Watts said when asked by a Gunners fan if they are interested in Alderweireld: “There is interest in Alderweireld, but I just can’t see it happening.”
Arsenal fans seem to be open to the idea of the Gunners securing the services of Alderweireld, who earns £75,000 per week as salary according to The Daily Star, but Tottenham fans do not think that the 29-year-old Belgium international will move to the Emirates Stadium.

Alderweireld is one of the best defenders in the Premier League, and the former Ajax star would be a brilliant addition to the Arsenal team.
However, it is hard to see the Belgian even entertain the idea of crossing the North London divide or Spurs open to selling their bitter rivals one of their best players.
It is quick a shock that Arsenal are (reportedly) interested in the Tottenham defender, but it is unlikely anything will come out of it.
Alderweireld has been on the books of Tottenham since the summer of 2015 when he joined from Atletico Madrid for a transfer fee reported by The Guardian to be worth £11.4 million.
