Arsenal fans aren’t giving Shkodran Mustafi an easy time for his performance against Brentford.

Arsenal fans on Twitter are slaughtering Shkodran Mustafi for his performance in tonight’s 3-1 win over Brentford.
Unai Emery’s side moved into the fourth round of the EFL Cup but were given a big test by the Championship outfit.
Two goals from Danny Welbeck helped Arsenal into a comfortable 2-0 lead at half time, but Alan Judge reduced the arrears for Brentford shortly before the hour mark.
The Bees gave Arsenal a number of second-half scares but Alexandre Lacazette put the game beyond them in the final stages.
The Germany international started alongside Rob Holding at the heart of the Gunners’ defence, but it was the youngster who looked the more assured defender for much of the game.
Here’s how some Arsenal supporters reacted to Mustafi’s showing:
Mustafi, who earns £90,000 per week in North London [Total Sportek], hasn’t been Arsenal’s most consistent performer since Emery took over from Arsene Wenger this past summer.
But he’s a very capable defender on his day, though Holding’s performance is a big reminder that he can’t be complacent or else the Spanish manager might well pair the young Englishman and Sokratis going forward.
