Arsenal overcame Bob Bradley’s Swansea City side this weekend.
For the last few seasons Arsenal fans have been calling for additional defensive options, with German international Per Mertesacker’s lack of pace coming to the fore the older he got.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger made the right move this summer, bringing in Shkodran Mustafi from Valencia, and the 24-year-old has set about building a fine partnership with Laurent Koscielny.
On Saturday the pair did not have the best of games, with Swansea scoring two goals to make things jittery before Arsenal ultimately came out 3-2 winners, but there are still plenty of reasons to be positive.
With the Gunners firing up front and having real strengthen in depth in the centre of the park, their fans can also take pleasure in the fact that they finally have a far more solid back-line, even if it still needs a little work.
