Arsenal took on Leicester City on Tuesday night, and played out a 1-1 draw in what turned out to be a controversial game.

The Gunners were superb in the first half, and took the lead when Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang converted Bukayo Saka’s cross.

Arsenal couldn’t find a second goal, and were then reduced to 10 men when substitute Eddie Nketiah was given his marching orders in the second half.

Jamie Vardy – who Arsenal fans feel should have been sent off too following a clash with Shkodran Mustafi – ended up scoring the equaliser, giving Leicester a crucial point.

Arsenal can feel a little aggrieved, but there were plenty of positive signs once again – and defender Mustafi was one of them.

The 28-year-old recorded three successful tackles, three clearances, two interceptions and four aerials won, impressing once again.

Previously derided under Unai Emery, the German has been resurgent under Mikel Arteta, and now finds himself a fixture of the Arsenal back line having looked destined for the exit just a matter of months ago.

Arsenal fans took to Twitter to praise Mustafi’s display, noting that he looks like a totally different player under Arteta, believing that his value and importance is rising with every performance.
