Arsenal defender Shokdran Mustafi featured as a substitute against Leicester City on Sunday night – but he seems to have exit plans in mind.
An injury to David Luiz meant Mustafi was brought on into a right-sided centre back role, bu he couldn’t help Arsenal keep a clean sheet as the Gunners lost 1-0.
On Monday, Football.London reported that Mustafi has been offered a new contract to stay at Arsenal, but he rejected the offer.
Mustafi has allegedly told Arsenal that he intends to leave the club at the end of the season, when his contract comes to an end.
The 28-year-old was signed from Valencia for £35million in 2016, but could now leave for absolutely nothing as he plots a departure.
Mustafi is allegedly seeking a move to Italy to be closer to his wife and family, whilst he has already starred in Serie A with Sampdoria.

Arsenal fans are reacting on Twitter to the news, with many asking just why on earth the Gunners even offered him a new deal in the first place.
Some don’t think Mustafi deserves an extended stay at Arsenal, and are questioning just what on earth Edu is doing by trying to keep him at the club rather than let him walk for free.
