Arsenal midfielder Matteo Guendouzi made the headlines for all the wrong reasons over the weekend – and rumours are now emerging about his future.

Guendouzi was seen grabbing Brighton and Hove Albion striker Neal Maupay by the throat in Saturday’s 2-1 defeat, but he avoided a FA charge.

There have now been reports emerging of his conduct. The Daily Mail claim that he was mocking Brighton players in terms of their wages compared to Arsenal stars.

Additionally, that report states that Mikel Arteta is ready to sell Guendouzi, having spotted him dancing and being a distraction behind Arteta’s back in training.

Arteta wants Guendouzi focused and reliable, both on the pitch and in training, and it currently seems like he isn’t seeing that.

This is the first report of Guendouzi being sold, so more reliable sources may be needed on this front, but Arsenal fans are reacting on Twitter to the rumours.

Some fans believe that Guendouzi should be let go, because he simply doesn’t possess the maturity or the professionalism to become a star at Arsenal.

Others completely disagree, believing that Guendouzi is a future captain and the team should be built around him, urging Arteta to coach him rather than sell him.
