Arsenal picked up a second straight Premier League win on Tuesday evening as they beat Brighton and Hove Albion 1-0 at the Amex Stadium.
The Gunners were in buoyant mood after a 3-1 home win over Chelsea, but had to go on the road to the South Coast in search of another positive result.
The first half performance won’t live long in the memory, as the two sides cancelled each other out in a fairly drab affair, but Arsenal started to hit their stride in the second half.
Emile Smith Rowe and Gabriel Martinelli started to look like real threats, but it was substitute Alexandre Lacazette who hit the winner, firing home from Bukayo Saka’s pass.
Arsenal then stood strong to keep a valuable clean sheet and grab all three points, giving Mikel Arteta back-to-back wins just when he really needed them.
There were a number of players who impressed in the 1-0 win, but defender Rob Holding has been praised on Twitter for his performance in the heart of the Arsenal defence.

Holding recorded two aerials won, two clearances, one interception, one blocked shot an done tackle won in a fine performance alongside Pablo Mari at the back.
Fans suggested that Holding was ‘quietly’ very good against Brighton, believing that his performances go ‘unnoticed’.
Others think that Holding is silencing his critics with his consistent displays, backing him to continue his fine form.
