Arsenal and Benfica went head-to-heads on Saturday and the Gunners came out comfortable winners.
Arsenal kicked off the latest Emirates Cup competition with a 5-2 victory against Portuguese side Benfica on Saturday afternoon.
The Gunners won courtesy of a Theo Walcott brace, an own goal from Lisandro Lopez and strikes from Olivier Giroud and Alex Iwobi.

Benfica responded via Franco Cervi and Eduardo Salvio, to ensure the match was all square at half time. However, Arsenal put the game to be in the second period to ensure they head into today’s match against Sevilla in a positive mood.
Along with the familiar faces on show, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger also gave some of the club’s next generation a chance, with Reiss Nelson making his home debut.
The youngster played the first 75 minutes, setting up Giroud’s goal and impressing throughout.
The 17-year-old right winger is rated highly among Arsenal’s academy staff and in time he could become a first-team regular.
He certainly slotted in seamlessly on Saturday and will be hoping for a few more minutes later today, although a starting spot on the bench is likely given how long he played just 24 hours earlier.
