Arsenal bagged themselves a place in the quarter-finals of the EFL cup last night, after a comfortable victory against Championship side Reading.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain scored twice for the Gunners, netting in both halves of the game. Reading almost equalised in the first 45 minutes when Callum Harriott’s deflected shot landed on top of Emiliano Martinez’s goal.

Oxlade-Chamberlain’ performance will no doubt encourage Arsene Wenger to feature the England midfielder more in his Xl. The 23-year-old has only played a full 90 minutes on two occasions this season.
Wenger’s side completely dominated the game in the second half. Reading couldn’t do enough to cause an upset, with the Gunners living up to expectations and proceeding in the competition.
