Arsenal chose to sign Nicolas Pepe in the summer of 2019, paying huge money to bring him from Lille – but that move hasn’t really panned out.
Pepe is yet to really show his consistency at Arsenal, and some wonder whether he will ever become the player the Gunners wanted.
Unai Emery dropped a bombshell last year as he admitted that he wanted to sign Wilfried Zaha instead, but Arsenal chose to sign his Ivorian international teammate Pepe instead.
Now, 90Min claim that Arsenal are back in for Zaha, and could make a move to sign him this summer – as long as they can offload players first.
Zaha wants to stay in London even if he leaves Crystal Palace, and with no indication that Chelsea or Tottenham want him right now, Arsenal could be his best option.
The 28-year-old has been a lifelong Arsenal fan, so having the chance to join his boyhood club would be a dream come true, even if they overlooked him two years ago.
It feels like now or never for Zaha in terms of joining a huge club, and after nine goals in 22 Premier League games this season, Arsenal are impressed.

Arsenal fans have been taking to Twitter to react, and whilst some aren’t convinced, there are a number of fans urging the club to get a deal done.
Some believe that Zaha would bleed for the badge given that he supports Arsenal, and think that – combined with his ability on the ball – would make him a smart signing.
Others admitted that they would sacrifice Pepe in order to sign Zaha, seemingly hoping that a deal is finally done after years of rumours.
