Matteo Guendouzi of Arsenal in action during the Premier League match between Arsenal FC and Manchester City at Emirates Stadium on August 12, 2018 in London, United Kingdom.

Arsenal fans have praised Matteo Guendouzi after he calmed Pierre Emerick Aubameyang down, following what turned out to be the winning goal against Aston Villa.

Aubameyang blasted in a free-kick against Villa to ensure that Arsenal completed an impressive comeback against Dean Smith’s side.

Aubameyang was naturally delighted to score, and raced away to celebrate with Arsenal supporters.

But among the chaos, Guendouzi was calm as he realised that the game was far from done.

Arsenal still had to hand on to their leads for around 10 minutes, despite having a numerical disadvantage.

And Arsenal fans are so impressed to see such leadership qualities shown from a 20-year-old.

Guendouzi was arguably Arsenal’s man of the match, with his combative performance in midfield helping Unai Emery’s make up for their lack of numbers on the pitch.

With Emery set to name his five Arsenal captains this week, it will be interesting to see if Guendouzi is among the players considered.
