Dani Ceballos has had his ups and downs at Arsenal this season. Unai Emery brought the Spaniard to the Emirates on a season-long loan deal from Real Madrid, and he started brilliantly.
The midfielder lost his way a bit after getting injured but he became a regular in Mikel Arteta’s side before football came to a standstill.
Ceballos has played 24 times for the Gunners in all competitions this season. The 23-year-old only has just a goal and two assists to his name but there is more to his game than just his goal contributions.
Under Arteta, Ceballos has played a deeper role with Mesut Ozil occupying the number 10 role. That has allowed the Spaniard to get on the ball more and act as a a very important link between defence and attack.
Ceballos has about two weeks left on his contract but it is likely that he will stay with Arsenal until the end of the season.
However, his future beyond the end of this campaign is up in the air with conflicting reports floating around social media over the past few weeks.
AS have claimed today that Ceballos has earned Arteta’s trust and the Arsenal boss wants him to stay for another season, either on loan or on a permanent deal.

Ceballos on loan for another year makes sense
A permanent deal for Ceballos will be difficult to achieve in this difficult financial climate. However, another loan deal is a very realistic option for all three parties, especially if Arsenal and the Spaniard are up for it.
Arsenal fans took to Twitter to express their views about the latest report. Most of them would love to see Ceballos back for another year at the Emirates.
Here’s how a few of them reacted on Twitter.
