Football returning truly has been a joy to all the fans across the world. The title is already decided but there is a lot of excitement over the few remaining games of the season.
The Merseyside derby last month was an underwhelming draw but there is another huge derby right around the corner.
Tottenham host Arsenal in a crucial game for both sides next week, and the mind games between the two sides seem to have begun already.
Arsenal had a sly dig at Tottenham on their Facebook page after Spurs suffered a 3-1 loss at the hands of Sheffield United last week. The Gunners captioned a highlights video: “It’s not easy beating Sheffield United at Bramall Lane. Here’s a reminder of how it’s done”
Tottenham fans and Mourinho were not happy
Banter between two fierce rivals is very common on social media these days but Tottenham fans, predictably, didn’t find Arsenal’s post funny at all.
It’s not just Spurs supporters though. The Gunners’ social media team seem to have upset Jose Mourinho as well, and the Tottenham boss slammed Arsenal for their online activity.
He said as per BBC: “You only enjoy the problems of others when you are also in trouble. I think if they were top of the league or fighting for top four in a really good moment they wouldn’t enjoy the problems of others.”
“They don’t have much to celebrate, they have to get every opportunity to do it. They are in a very similar situation to us in the table. To be the champion of north London means nothing for me because I think you have to be much bigger than that and have much more ambitions than that.”
Mourinho has had a lot to say about Arsenal in the past as well. His comments about the Gunners’ trophy drought and Arsene Wenger has made him the villain at the Emirates, and now that he is at Tottenham, Arsenal fans appreciate him even less.
Arsenal fans didn’t take Mourinho’s comments too lightly. Some of them felt that he wasn’t taking a joke while others couldn’t wait for an Arsenal win in the derby next week.
