Arsenal have bolstered two positions in Mikel Arteta’s first team this month, and could yet bring in another.
The Gunners have added two loan signings, bringing in Mat Ryan to strengthen the goalkeeping ranks before signing Martin Odegaard today.
That’s a new playmaker added too, but Arsenal may yet look to bring in another left back before Monday’s deadline.
Sead Kolasinac has gone to Schalke, whilst a few knock to Kieran Tierney of late show that a new left back as cover and competition could be ideal.
One of the names linked this week is Jordan Amavi, with L’Equipe reporting that the Gunners have made an enquiry for the Marseille ace.
Amavi, 26, is out of contract in the summer, and could return to England having previously had a rather uninspiring stint with Aston Villa.
Given Amavi’s contract situation, he could be a cut-price addition for Arsenal, whilst he has attacking threat having picked up three goals and 10 assists in 119 games for Marseille.
Arsenal fans have been taking to Twitter to react to Edu making contact for Amavi, with most feeling that the deal would ‘shrewd’.
Some think that Amavi is no better than Kolasinac, but others thing he is the ideal cover and backup for Tierney, believing he is the right age to be a backup whilst urging Arsenal to ‘get it done’.
