Arsenal secured a big-money deal for one centre back over the summer, bringing in Gabriel Magalhaes from Lille.
Gabriel has impressed, but Arsenal may still look to add another right-footed centre back given that Sokratis Papastathopoulos, Shkodran Mustafi and David Luiz are out of contract in 2021.
William Saliba has yet to feature in the Premier League, and reports now suggest that a new French centre back is wanted.
Sport Bild report that Arsenal want to sign RB Leipzig defender Ibrahima Konate, with a €50million (£44million) release clause in his deal.
Konate would be a huge capture for Arsenal, and he isn’t the only Leipzig star the Gunners want; that same report suggests they want Christopher Nkunku too.
The creative midfielder was wanted by Unai Emery at Arsenal in 2019, and would now cost a massive €40million (£36million) to lure from Leipzig.

Arsenal fans have been reacting to the rumours, urging Arsenal to get Konate in, believing that he and Gabriel would be a great partnership – though there is concern that he would leapfrog Saliba.
Others think that Nkunku and Thomas Partey would be ‘insane’ in midfield together, and feel Arsenal should have signed him a long time ago.
