Arsenal made it seven Premier League games without defeat as they drew 0-0 at home with Manchester United on Saturday evening.
The Gunners had dropped just two points in their last six games having hit fine form under Mikel Arteta in recent weeks.
It wasn’t quite to be against United, with Nicolas Pepe threading a couple of efforts just wide of the post and Alexandre Lacazette hitting the crossbar with a free kick.
Still, it’s another point and another clean sheet for Arsenal, with Arteta no doubt pleased with how solid his side were.
This was a big test for Granit Xhaka in particular; the Swiss ace had to try and nullify Bruno Fernandes alongside Thomas Partey.
Xhaka largely did a good job against Fernandes, keeping him quiet for much of the game with a strong performance in Arteta’s engine room alongside Partey.
Arsenal fans have now been taking to Twitter to react to Xhaka’s performance, branding him ‘excellent’ against United.
Others even believe that he was better than Partey last night, with the midfielder earning huge praise – something he doesn’t always receive from Arsenal fans.
