Arsenal have signed Gabriel Martinelli on a long-term contract.

The juxtaposition in the gap between Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur has been laid bare today.
Both North London clubs kick-started their summer transfer window by making their first signings.
Tottenham broke their transfer record on bringing in £55 million midfielder Tanguy Ndombele, while Arsenal have signed an 18-year-old Brazilian starlet from Ituano Futebol Clube – Gabriel Martinelli.
It’s the easiest game of Spot the Difference ever and it was a big reminder as to how those on the white side of the North London divide are thriving, while the Gunners, with a limited budget, are having to sign players who could be brilliant in three or four year,s but for now haven’t done all that much.
And Arsenal fans, whose side are linked with Wilfried Zaha among other big-name stars, aren’t all that happy with Unai Emery’s first piece of business this summer.
Things will get more exciting for the Gunners’ faithful – they have to, really – but then again, there isn’t huge sums of money available.
According to The Mail, Emery only has a £45 million budget, and £40 million of that has reportedly gone on a bid for Zaha.
Spurs only finished a point ahead of their bitter rivals in the Premier League last season, but it doesn’t tell the full story by virtue of the fact that Mauricio Pochettino’s side also made the Champions League final.
