The Gunners won 3-0 against Eintracht Frankfurt, despite putting out a very young team.
And Martinez’s display in the contest has many Arsenal fans suggesting that he should be brought in for Leno.
Martinez is one of Arsenal’s longest serving players, and has been waiting a patiently for his chance.
He certainly took it last night, with his distribution particularly impressive.
Leno, who cost Arsenal £19 million (BBC Sport), has not been in perfect form so far this term, with Arsenal’s defence being shaky, so there could be an opening.
That being said, it would be a shock if Unai Emery decided to drop him at this early stage of the campaign.
Arsenal’s next Premier League game comes on Sunday, when they take on Aston Villa.
