Arsenal desperately need a new playmaker. If that wasn’t obvious before Sunday’s defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers, it certainly is now.

The Gunners are struggling for goals, and whilst Gabriel found the net in last night’s 2-1 defeat, it was just a second league goal in the last six games.

Arsenal have gone from being entertaining and sometimes flimsy, to functional and somewhat boring whilst also being shaky at the back.

Mesut Ozil’s exile means Arsenal must find a new playmaker from somewhere, and fans are hoping it’s Red Bull Salzburg playmaker Dominik Szoboszlai.

The Hungarian talent has hit eight goals and nine assists this season, whilst he excelled last term with 12 goals and 18 assists.

The Athletic now report that Arsenal do want the 20-year-old, but have three concerns; his age, his lack of defensive ability and his ball retention.

Arsenal seemingly wonder whether they need somebody more experienced right now, and maybe don’t feel that Szoboszlai is well-rounded enough just yet.

Gunners fans aren’t impressed at all, branding the stance ‘silly’ and ‘nonsense’ because the club needs his creativity without fretting about defending.

Others blasted Mikel Arteta for wanting to be like Jose Mourinho, believing that Arsenal simply have to sign Szoboszlai and forget their fears.
