Some Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to give their reaction to David Ornstein’s latest report in The Athletic about Mesut Ozil.
The well-known and well-respected journalist, who works for The Athletic, has reported that Arsenal and Ozil have reached ‘an agreement in principle’ to terminate his contract.
The German attacking midfielder’s contract at Arsenal runs out at the end of the season, but, according to The Athletic, the 32-year-old will leave this month.
The report has added that the former Real Madrid star will travel to Turkey this weekend to complete a move to Fenerbahce.
Ozil has not played for the Gunners since March 2020 and was left out of manager Mikel Arteta’s Premier League and Europa League squad this season.
The German joined Arsenal from Madrid back in the summer of 2013, and although he was a star for the team for a number of years, his importance and performances had dipped recently.
Some Arsenal fans have given their take on Ozil reportedly agreeing to terminate his contract and leave the club this month.
