Danny Welbeck will be leaving Arsenal this summer, it has been confirmed.

Arsenal fans on Twitter aren’t crazy about the news that Danny Welbeck will be leaving the club.

Gunners boss Unai Emery confirmed after Arsenal’s 1-1 draw with Brighton & Hove Albion this evening that the injured attacker won’t be signing a new contract in North London.

Welbeck will join Aaron Ramsey in leaving the club on a free transfer this summer.

The 28-year-old, who joined Arsenal under Arsene Wenger in 2014, hasn’t played since November after suffering a season-ending injury.

Here is how Gunners fans reacted to his imminent departure:

The former Manchester United ace, who cost Arsenal £16 million [The Telegraph], only managed 88 Premier League outings during what’s been an injury-ravaged five years in the capital, netting 16 times.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s arrival in January of 2018 pushed him further down the pecking order, though Welbeck played a role in helping Wenger’s side reach the Europa League semi-final last year.
