Arsenal lost 2-1 to Sevilla in the Emirates Cup on Sunday.

Arsenal could not make it back-to-back victories as they lost 2-1 to Spanish side Sevilla in the final of the Emirates Cup this weekend, but it was still a useful run-out for Arsene Wenger’s side.

The Gunners’ goal came courtesy of summer signing Alexandre Lacazette, who has wasted little time proving his ability in front of goal after swapping Lyon for North London.

Unfortunately for Arsenal, goals from Joaquin Correa and Steven N’Zonzi were enough to seal the win for the visitors.

While plenty of familiar faces were on show for the hosts, Wenger also used the tournament – as he always does – to give some of the club’s young prospects an opportunity to shine, and it is fair to say some did considerably better than others.

Reiss Nelson was the standout youngster from Saturday’s clash with Benfica, but the teenager was an unused substitue 24 hours later, with Cohen Bramall given a chance after the break.

The 21-year-old left-back replaced Hector Bellerin after half time. However on this evidence he could struggle to get any significant game time when the competitive action kicks off next month.

Bramall has featured nine times for Arsenal’s under-23 team, scoring one goal and providing three assists since completing his January switch from non-league Hednesford Town. But only time will tell if he completes the fairy tale as the likes of Ian Wright and Jamie Vardy have before him.
