Arsenal have made a dismal start to the season with three Premier League defeats – but Ben White and Gabriel Magalhaes could return to help.
The Gunners opened with two 2-0 defeats against Brentford and Chelsea before being hammered 5-0 at Manchester City before the international break.
Mikel Arteta finds himself under pressure and needs results quickly, starting with this weekend’s game against Norwich City.
One of the big problems against Manchester City was a torrid defence; Calum Chambers, Rob Holding and Sean Kolasinac just isn’t good enough, sadly.
Arsenal have though spent big on defenders in recent times, with Ben White and Gabriel needed to solidify the back line.
Gabriel cost £27million from Lille in 2020, and Arsenal then splashed a huge £50million on White, luring him from Brighton and Hove Albion this summer.
Both players were ruled out against City, and some may feel that the defending wouldn’t have been quite as embarrassing if they had been available.
Arsenal fans are excited now though, because the pair were spotted training at London Colney together on Monday, with supporters believing they are the answer to Arteta’s defensive woes.
Some believe that this is the start of Arsenal’s season now both White and Gabriel are available, believing Arteta will ‘cook’ now.
Others jokingly compared White and Gabriel to Alessandro Nesta and Paolo Maldini, claiming their partnership could be ‘beautiful’.
