Arsenal midfielder Ainsley Maitland-Niles was hooked off at half-time by Unai Emery last night.

Arsenal fans have blasted Ainsley Maitland-Niles for his display last night.

Arsenal ran out 3-2 winners in the end against Vitoria, but their performance in the contest was far from convincing.

Unai Emery’s side relied on two late free-kicks from Nicolas Pepe to secure the three points, after they had struggled for large parts of the match.

Arsenal had gone into the break behind against their Portuguese opponents, and Emery opted to make a double change.

Maitland-Niles was one of the Arsenal players who was substituted off in the change.

The youngster had struggled in the opening 45 minutes, and was guilty of squandering possession for the second goal which Arsenal conceded.

And Gunners fans have let rip at their academy graduate, who they feel is really not impressing.

Arsenal’s win over Vitoria means that they have taken maximum points in their Europa League group so far, and they look well on course to progress to the knockout stages.
