The Ivorian winger has been slammed for his displays this season following his big-money move from Lille, and many will point to his miss as another error.
However, Arsenal fans took Twitter to hail Pepe’s display, branding him ‘quality’ and Arsenal’s best player, with supporters seeing bright moments from the winger.
Many slated boss Unai Emery for substituting him whilst he was the most dangerous player in a yellow shirt, believing the decision was ‘incredible’ and a sign that the Spaniard can’t read the game.
