Arsenal have seen Gabriel Magalhaes excel in the Premier League since his summer move from Lille, but he’s not the only centre back Arsenal landed.
Mikel Arteta wants balance at the back, so adding a left-footer in Gabriel was an absolute must, and he has cover in that area too.
The Gunners took Pablo Mari on loan from Flamengo in January, offering the Spaniard a shot in the Premier League after being a forgotten man at Manchester City.
Mari, 26, starred in Brazil as he won the league title and the Copa Libertadores at Flamengo, but made just three appearances for Arsenal as the global pandemic and then injury struck.
Still, Arsenal decided to sign him permanently, with the Daily Mail reporting that the fee at the time was around £14million.
Now though, Hashtag Rubro Negro report that Flamengo’s official accounts show that the fee for Mari was just €4million (£3.6million), suggesting an absolute bargain for Arsenal.

Agent payments could take that overall fee much higher, but Arsenal fans have been taking to Twitter after learning about his alleged £10million discount.
Some called the move ‘great business’ and ‘a bargain’, believing that Mari now offers valuable cover without breaking the bank if these claims are true.
