Arsenal defender was a surprise starter in their Europa League fixture.

Mathieu Debuchy was named as a surprise starter for Arsenal in their Europa League win over Red Star Belgrade.
The former France international was making his first start of the season, with manager Arsene Wenger rotating his side once again.
Debuchy signed for the Gunners from Newcastle United in 2014, but suffered with injuries and the emergence of Hector Bellerin confined him to a back-up role.

It is remarkable even that Debuchy remains at Arsenal, but with the Gunners needing depth in defence to compete in multiple competitions, he can be a useful addition.
The veteran played all 90 minutes of the victory, in a makeshift back three alongside Mohamed Elneny and Rob Holding.
It was significant the trio managed to keep a clean sheet, as Arsenal maintained their 100 per cent record in the competition.

Arsene Wenger will not be rushing to select Debuchy in the Premier League any time soon, but this performance at least sets him up as a ‘use in case of emergency’ option.
Arsenal fans had low expectations after seeing him on the teamsheet, and were impressed with his display.
