Move over, Assist King, for your mantle has been seized by Lucas Perez.
The Spaniard made only his fourth Arsenal appearance against Ludogorets on Wednesday night, but in half an hour managed to double his tally of goal contributions since moving to the Emirates.
Perez provided the assists for the final two of Arsenal’s six goals against the Bulgarian side, turning the tables on renowned creator Mesut Ozil.

The goals – part of a superb hat-trick – took Ozil’s tally to six in 10 games this season, which is, unusually, five more than his tally of assists.
Perez, meanwhile, was bought arguably as a scorer of goals, having struck 17 times for Deportivo La Coruna last season.

After last night, however, many Arsenal fans suspect there has been a shift in responsibility within Arsene Wenger’s ranks.
And despite Ozil’s exploits, a morale-boosting goal for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and another, truly sublime, effort from Alexis Sanchez, it was Arsenal’s new number 9 who was the talk of social media afterwards…
